The dot or period in your Gmail address doesn’t matter

Stop Telling people that you have dot in your email address. Don’t emphasis on that. It does not matter if you are using Gmail.

In general if the email address is customer.support@etravelsmart.com then if you send mail to customersupport@etravelsmart.com  then it fails in most of email providers. But you need not worry in case if your personal or corporate email provider is Gmail. In Gmail customer.support@etravelsmart.com = customersupport@etravelsmart.com cust.o.mer.support@etravelsmart.com= customersupport@etravelsmart.com Google decided to do things differently from other email providers when it launched Gmail.Namely, it decided to ignore periods in its users’ email addresses altogether.That’s right—they make absolutely no difference. Following are general restrictions on using period from different email providers based on few experiments.

DOTS MATTER: Microsoft Outlook, Yahoo Mail, Apple iCloud
DOTS DON’T MATTER: Gmail, Facebook
DOTS STRICTLY PROHIBITED: Twitter
